I took the first digital manipulation I did from Phase III of The Cascade Project and output it on Thai Kozo rice paper. I then manipulated the surface with ink, Prismacolor, microns and colored pencil. The result is interesting to say the least. The digital mark and the direct ink have unique aesthetic qualities that allow for a certain separation within the blended integration.
Though this experiment is small (9″ x 12″), it’s done in preparation of much larger output pieces (22″ x 30″ and 40″ x 60″).
